Well, much has happened since the last post. It seems almost impossible to find the time to maintain this, but I am determined. We have now seen two episodes of our video series, ¿Eres tú, María? Not only are we using the series for listening comprehension, but also for looking at some of the cultural aspects of life in modern Spain. Be sure to have your comprehension activities completed when you come to the block class this week.
Tuesday and Wednesday, during the block period, you'll be taking the on the vocabulary that has to do with daily routiine, La rutina diaria. The vocabulary was both copied in class and it is a list on the Quizlet site for our class. If you haven't joined our Quizlet class, do so, please. See me or a classmate if you need help with the process of joining. Take advantage of all the practice features of Quizlet.
El mes de la hispanidad, Hispanic Heritage Month, began on Sept. 15th and continues through Oct. 15th. The homework given on Monday, the 14th, was to do a web search to find five Bay Area events taking place during the month which celebrate Hispanic heritage. Dates, times, locations and event descriptions were to be written down. I asked that you identify the one that holds most interest for you, and that you explain why.
This was turned in on the block day.
Please invite your parents/guardians to attend Back-to-School Night on Thursday. The chili cookoff is at 5:30,
with a meeting in the gym afterward, and then the mini-classes, when parents follow your schedule. Be sure they know! I want to meet them!
