After making up a fun story about Lola and Frankie, we went on to create endings to the story, working in pairs. There have been some very entertaining results. ¡Buen trabajo, estudiantes! Now we are beginning to get a taste of the forms which communicate actions that happened in the past, but for which neither the start or end of the action is important. I call it the "ongoing past". In grammatical terms, it's called the imperfect tense. It expresses what used to be or what was going on at some time in the past. It's what we use to talk about repeated patterns in the past. Some of the most commonly used forms are posted on Quizlet in a set called Ongoing Past. Update your Quizlet and start playing with these forms on your phone, tablet or laptop. If you don't have access, be sure to let me know!
Binder check will happen on Monday, Oct. 26th. Checklist was handed out today. Be prepared!
The second progress report period ends Oct. 30th. If you have missing work or you need to retake a quiz on which you were not successful, SEE ME WITHOUT DELAY!
Today, with help from student actors, we read a new "Billy la Bufanda" story. The related assignment, due Friday, is to illustrate the story, using colors. I prefer printer paper over binder paper. Somewhere above or below the illustration, write a sentence in Spanish (¡por supuesto!) which relates to your drawing. I'll put a link to the story below.
Our culture project for El Día de los Muertos is due on November 2nd. The "Shoebox Ofrenda" is described in the handout students received at the beginning of October. I will attempt to create a link to the file here.
